Los Angeles has a deep-rooted connection to the global game, shaped by moments like the 1984 Olympic Soccer Tournament, the 1994 FIFA World Cup™ Final and the 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup™ Final. Today, Los Angeles is home to three major professional soccer teams — The Los Angeles GalaxyThe Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC), and Angel City Football Club world-class venues like SoFi Stadium and millions of passionate fans.

Los Angeles is focused on using the spotlight of the largest single-sport event in history to leave a lasting positive impact long after the final match is played.

As part of its World Cup legacy, the Los Angeles World Cup 2026 Host Committee and the Play Equity Fund are proud to recognize 26 Community Champions, a group of nonprofit organizations who are harnessing the power of soccer to uplift, empower, and create meaningful change across the region.
